René Recinos Wins Golden Stethoscope Award July 27, 2018!

[René Recinos] Good morning, Paul. [Paul Manternach] How you doing today, sir? [Rene] Tired [indecipherable] last night. Rod, how are you? [Rod Schlader] Good, Good. [Paul] Hey René, have you ever heard of the
Golden Awards? [René] Uh, yes… [Paul] Golden Heart, Golden Hands, Golden
Stephoscope. [René] Yes. [Paul] Well congratulations. {René] Thank you. [Paul] You’re the nominee and recipient of
the Golden Stephoscope Award. [René] Thank you. [Paul] In order to get a Golden Stethoscope
Award, the criteria are: accessible and approachable, coordination of patient care, patient and
family involvement and interactions, successful patient outcome, wholistic approach to care
and exemplifies Mercy’s guiding behaviors. So the nomination: “Dr. Recinos has never
displayed anything but kindness and compassion towards patients and staff members in my experience. The Mercy mission explains how we serve together
in the spirit of the Gospel as a compassionate and transforming healing presence within our
communities. Dr. Recinos has displayed so much compassion
in his practice that patients seem to be drawn towards him and fully trust his care, which
explains his emanating healing presence. In a particular situation where a patient
was unhappy with his care and unwilling to agree with nursing staff due to a medical
diagnoses, Dr. Recinos did not hesitate to come over to West Campus and discuss the patient’s
care with him and his family face-to-face. The patient thinks very highly of Dr. Recinos
and fully trusts him with his health care, improving the patient’s attitude and respecting
staff members. In this particularly difficult situation,
Dr. Recinos was flawless with his guidance and explanation of care to his patient. Dr. Recinos was also very supportive towards
staff and didn’t hesitate to tell all staff how important we were to him and what exceptional
care we’ve provided for his patients. He was open to care suggestions provided by
staff and willing to clarify previous orders without reluctance. To me, Dr. Recinos showed every core value
of Mercy with an emphasis on commitment to those who are poor and integrity. I have never felt so supported by a physician
and believe my co-workers would say the same in this situation. He is most certainly a Golden Physician. Thank you, Dr. Recinos for your exceptional
care and service to Mercy.” Thank you again. [René] I appreciate it very much, thank you!
[applause] [off camera: “congratulations!”] [Rod] Here’s your plaque and we have a little
pin for you. [René] Thank you. [Rod] Awesome work. [René] It’s wonderful. Thank you.
