Onglyza a Prescription Medication Used to Treat Type 2 Diabetes – Overview


Onglyza is a prescription medication used
along with diet and exercise to treat type 2 diabetes. Onglyza belongs to a group of
drugs called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors. It works by increasing the amount
of insulin made by the body after meals, and by decreasing the amount of glucose produced
by the liver. This medication comes in tablet form to take
by mouth. It is usually taken once daily, with or without food. Do not split or cut
Onglyza tablets. Swallow the tablets whole. Common side effects of Onglyza includes upper
respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, and headache.

  • This is a horrible medicine…. please do all home work BEFORE you take this. My mom took 1 2.5 MG pill and ended up in the hospital with heart problems. As I am typing this I am sitting with her in the ER were the hospital is going to admit her and watch her heart. All the doctors say so far that it's not the medicine, however I took her to her Dr appt today and know for a fact that this pill is a direct result for why she is here tonight.
