How We Treat People – Colossians 4:5-6

How We Treat People – Colossians 4:5-6

let’s get into the Word Colossians
chapter 4 pardon me and only two verses today verses 5 and 6 I’ll have you turn
there and once you do if you’re able I’ll ask you to stand you can follow
along as I read the Apostle Paul by the Holy Spirit is writing and says verse 5
be wise in the way you act toward outsiders make the most of every
opportunity let your conversation verse 6 be always full of grace seasoned with
salt so that you may know how to answer everyone let’s pray if you would join
with me loving heavenly Father were so grateful to you for your Word and this
portion that we have before us this morning but we’re also keenly aware that
unless the Holy Spirit gets our attention and holds our attention we’re
going to miss what it is that You desire to minister to us today so we want to
ask you to help us give You our undivided attention so our minds don’t
wander so that You can speak into our lives in and through Your Word we ask
you for this in Jesus name amen and amen you can be seated thank you I want to
talk with you today about how we as God’s people treat other people
especially those who are not believers and the reason why is because
here in these two verses Paul is exhorting us concerning the paramount
importance of how we act toward others so as I usually do during the course of
a week in anticipation of a Sunday morning sermon I spent some time in
prayer I seek the Lord concerning the text and how I should approach the text
in teaching it and this week I discerned and sensed that the Lord would have me to
take the approach of posing a series of questions so what follows are five
questions within these two verses that I think every one of us would do well to
answer and let’s start with this first question in the first part of verse 5 am
I wise in the way that I interact with those who are not Christians see what I
find interesting is that right after Paul in the previous verses asks for
prayer very specifically for prayer that God would give him boldness that God
would open up doors for the gospel that right after he asks for specific prayer
about winning non-believers to Christ that he would now talk about walking in
wisdom toward non-believers in order to win them
to Christ it’s like he’s saying not only should we to be praying that God opens
up doors for us with the unbeliever but when he does we need to be wise
toward the unbeliever there are two questions that I believe every
non-Christian is asking the first question they’re asking is is it real
perhaps better asked are you for real maybe even better asked are you the real
deal and the second question they’re asking is does the Christian life work
and by the way they want the Christian life to work and they want you to be the
real deal do you realize that they’re reading the
letter of your life they’re watching you as a Christian and how you live your
life that’s what the Apostle Paul says to the Corinthians in his second epistle
the third chapter verse 2 he says you yourselves are our letter written on our
hearts known and read by everyone the non-believer is watching you all the
time they’re seeing how you react under stress how you treat other people and oh
by the way isn’t that what Jesus himself would have to say that the way the
non-believer is going to know that we are his disciples his followers is by
our love one for another in other words how we treat one another
well this sort of dovetails into the second question in the second part of
verse five and it’s do I make the most of every opportunity and redeem the time
important to understand that this word redeem carries with it the idea of
having value just like you would redeem a coupon or something of value and what
Paul is saying is time is valuable redeem it make the most of every
opportunity that the Lord presents to you now keep in mind he’s writing this
letter from prison in a dungeon of a prison and he himself is taking
advantage of that opportunity while he’s there to me Paul knows what every one of
us should know and it’s that God will set up these divine appointments in
order that we might seize the moment we have to first recognize it you know when
it comes to time it’s the great equalizer is it not we all have the same
exact amount of time that’s not the question the question is what do we do
with our time do we waste our time I have to confess that this is an area in
my life where the Lord has really been dealing with me I’ve been very open with
you as a church with my struggles when it comes to traffic
God speaks to me a lot in traffic and the problem is is that it’s in those
times that we don’t recognize that maybe this is an opportunity for me one
commentator noted you see it there on the screen this is interesting I
actually don’t like statistics like this they they’re very disturbing but the
average American spends six months of their life waiting at a red stoplight
you know that stoplight on the at the intersection of Likelike highway
and Kamehameha Highway in Kaneohe yeah I think that’s the I think I’ve spent like
six months waiting it that is the longest light on the entire island I don’t know if you’ve ever done this but
I do this I actually time oh I guess maybe you do too then no for real I
timed that light one time and I was there for over two minutes this is
anathema I just want you to know two minutes
sitting there at a red light and that’s when the Lord just says hello once you
make the most of this time you got nothing better to do hey why don’t you
pray what a great idea you know what I do in fact some of my best time in
prayer is when I’m driving from my house to church it takes me 22 minutes as a
law-abiding citizen who draw the speed limit 22 minutes ish depending
on traffic that is 22 minutes of very valuable time that I can spend talking
with God spend that time in prayer make the most of every opportunity that God
presents you redeem that time that’s time that you can redeem it’s valuable
time use it wisely that’s what Paul is saying he echoes this in his epistle to
the Ephesians chapter 5 really expounds on it more so in verses 15 through 17 he
says be very careful then how you live not as unwise but as wise making the
most of every opportunity and here’s why because the days are evil there’s not
much time left we should be found faithful in taking advantage of every
opportunity that we have that God gives us in the short amount of time that we
have he goes on to say in verse 17 therefore do not be foolish but
understand what the Lord’s will is in other words it’s the Lord’s will that we
redeem the time that we live wisely that we are very careful and make the most of
every opportunity here’s the next question question number three first
part of verse six do I err on the side of an abundance of grace I’ll explain
why I asked that question that way Paul says that our our words need to be
with grace we need to our words need to be gracious we need to have grace and be
gracious especially when we are interacting with the non-Christian one
of the things that I’m learning in my walk with the Lord especially as a
pastor maybe even more so as a parent is that it’s not so much what I say or do
it’s how I say it and how I do it like I can say the right thing in the wrong way
we need to if we’re gonna err we need to err on the side of an abundance of grace
I have never regretted being gracious conversely I have many regrets when I
should have shown more grace well here’s question number 4 and I want
to spend a little bit of time on this one because it’s really interesting the
question is this does my conversation with others bring comfort and
encouragement here Paul refers to our words not only being gracious but also
being seasoned with salt which in that culture meant so much more than it does
for us today the value of salt in that day was such that some were actually
paid with salt which is where we get that saying they’re worth their salt
because that was how in that Roman Empire that’s how they were
paid with salt it carried that much value you know our English word salary
comes from the Latin word solarium Sal is the Latin word for salt so what’s
Paul saying here our words season with salt well what he’s saying is is that
our conversations should have the same effect that salt has what us all do well
salt preserves salt adds flavor salt creates thirst and perhaps more
importantly salt can be a healing agent that’s what Paul saying here salt keeps
the rottenness away it’s a preserving agent salt adds flavor salt should and
always does create this thirst and when we’re talking with people especially the
non-Christian our conversation should have a flavorful salty effect not salty
in the negative sense that totally came out wrong you get the point but even
more so our words should have the effect of bringing healing and comfort and
encouragement when we’re talking with people it should have this edifying
effect I was thinking about this and I as I was looking through this list and seeking to apply it in my own life as a
pastor and a teacher and the Lord kind of brought something to my attention
that I’ve thought about but I always want to
make sure I’m never guilty of and it’s this that when we’re talking about the
Lord it should never be boring it should be full of flavor full of joy I think it
is and this might come off maybe a little bit strong I hope you don’t
misunderstand me when I say this but I think it is a shame when a teacher of
God’s Word is dry there’s no flavor I mean it’s just you know why are you
looking at me like I I just think that the Word of God is so exciting and
I think it is just sad when there’s no flavor
there’s it’s just bland and boring and dry are you kidding me I have to share
those eyes especially now that I said I have to share this so now I really have
the share this when I was in California getting my son settled in in college I
went to visit a church no need to mention the name and it was a church
close by the campus I’m trying to find a church that my son can go to and I felt
oddly small church so we go we sit in the back and first of all nobody even
said hi to us I had to ask one of the greeters for a bulletin and it was
almost like I was you know it was I was inconveniencing them that’s why I always
say that it is a privilege to be the pastor
this amazing church I always I mean I I hear it all the time when we have online
visitors as we do today and they just say man you what this is a really loving
Church and I this is probably as good of a time as any to say to you as the
pastor of this church thank you for being such an amazing and loving Church
you make the pastorette such a joy not many pastors I would venture to say the
majority of pastors cannot say that I have the privilege of being able to to
say that it is a joy to pastor this church you guys are the real deal you
guys are a loving people so we sit in the back and we’re kind of looking about
very uncomfortable and we’re kind of looking around and I I’II always do this
because I’m the pastor I’m trying to figure out who the pastor is so I’m
looking rather oh can’t be him look look at that guy oh my goodness you know how
sometimes people who were visiting think when I step up to the pulpit in fact
this happened when we were at the old church many years ago visitor comes to
the church and didn’t know who the pastor was but just wanted you know
visit the church had heard about the church not me just the church so he’s
sitting there and so when I get up he says oh thank I thought he said and and
you did the announcements I thought I’m so glad that this isn’t the pastor of
the church and then you kept going and I realized you were the pastor I was like
thank you I don’t think he came back I don’t know why must have been a so we’re
sitting there in the back and the pastor bless his heart I mean just a low-key
guy I guess maybe it’s a temperament thing but he opened up God’s Word
and it happened to be a passage that I’m very familiar with and a passage that I
had already taught and I was really excited when he said turn in your Bibles
and it was in Galatians right and I was just grieved one of the most exciting
passages of Scripture and I mean it was like you were at a memorial service and
it was hard to follow there was no flavor it was so bland and we just left and I don’t think my son
has ever forgiven me for that so the next time I went back I took him to Ray
Bentley’s church Maranatha chapel in San Diego a little further away but boy was
I so glad I did I know I kind of digress a little bit there but maybe I can just
say one more thing when we as believers talk with non-believers and we don’t
have that flavor that salt that joy that excitement that passion and they look at
our lives and we might say something to them like you wouldn’t you wouldn’t want
to go to church with me would you no right that presupposes that you’re
even going to ask them reminds me of a true story because years ago on the
mainland guy shares about how that every weekend his neighbor would say hey you
want to go golfing with me and he said nah I
I’m I’m I got to go to church Wow you got to go to church really yeah so you keep
asking him and figured one of these days maybe he’ll go golfing with him and then
finally on this one weekend he says hey you want to go golfing with me
he says nah got to go to church true story
you know what the guy said you said you know I’ve been inviting you all this
time to go golfing with me you have never
once invited me to go to church with you oh how convicting is that you know what it
should be like there should be such a peculiar thirst creating joy in our
Christian lives that that neighbor comes over and invites himself to your church
yeah hey I hear you go to that church in Kaneohe that new nice church in with
that Arab pastor that yells at you and I think you get the point when we speak
our words should not only be gracious full of grace but there has to be some
salt you know sometimes salt can also sting a little bit yeah but it’s a healing property and
sometimes we as Christians I think we miss many opportunities that the Lord
presents to us well let’s move on because I’m really convicted now this is
the fifth and final question and it’s in the third part of verse six and it’s a
biggie by the way the question is am I able to give an
answer of the hope that I have if you were to ask me what I thought was one of
the main reasons that many Christians don’t share their faith this would have
to be it there’s this fear that I don’t know what to say or but what if they ask
me a question and I don’t know the answer we you know
what’s sad and I don’t want to I am fully capable of doing this I don’t
want to be derogatory and start bashing on the church in general in America but
I do lay blame with the pulpits in the United States today because they don’t
teach the word so now what you have are illiterate Christians who don’t know the
Bible they don’t know how to give an answer to even and these are intelligent
questions you know God has given us an intellect he has given we have this
god-given intellect and it’s sad to me that Christians as a whole are so
biblically illiterate and I have to say this too I was stunned by a statistic I
had heard a while back about how many Christians have never read the entire
Bible and again please I hear my heart on this
I don’t mean to you know get in your face on this but you you are being
robbed you are you don’t like you don’t want to have anything stolen from you do
you well you’re being robbed of the riches that lay within the pages of
God’s Word you know on Thursday night we’re in the book of Proverbs and there
are 31 chapters in the book of Proverbs and some months we have 31 days in the
month early on I made a practice of reading the chapter in Proverbs that
correspondent with the date of that particular month and then on the months
that there were not 31 days then you just read a couple extra chapters and
without exception there would be days when this is even before I was in the
ministry when I was in the business world and I would spend time in the word
in the morning and without exception especially when it came to the Proverbs
and the wisdom of the Proverbs and we as we talked about Thursday night it’s the
best book ever written on business and finance the book of Proverbs and without
exception that day I would be in a situation where my time in God’s Word
was exactly what I needed because I was going to be faced with a decision I’d be
in a meeting and then God would bring to my mind that Proverb that I had just
read that morning it’s just one book one book would to God that we would so know the
Word of God that as its been said if we were cut we would bleed Bible I want to
be the kind of Christian certainly the kind of pastor that when I speak it
would be as the Oracles of God that I would speak into the life of another the
Word of God an encouraging word and be a blessing to that person and give them
that answer that they’re seeking what is the answer that they’re seeking they’re
they’re asking for and seeking for hope and we have that answer we have that
hope first Peter and I’ll close chapter three
verses 15 and 16 this is again echoing what the Apostle Paul is writing he
expounds even more listen to what he says in your hearts revere Christ as
Lord always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give
the reason for the hope that you have but do this with gentleness and respect
you know I I’m just as guilty as the the next person especially when I was a
young believer man I was obnoxious for Christ I was just so disrespectful
really so he says do it with gentleness and respect keeping a clear conscience
so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may
be ashamed of their slander I’m rereading a book in my library it’s
an old one by Philip Yancey titled where is God when it hurts interesting contrasts he draws in there concerning
suffering and he talks a lot about job and how that God never answered job’s
question as to why he only addresses job concerning his response to it so you
have a Christian over here that’s diagnosed with cancer you have a
non-Christian over here also diagnosed with cancer this this individual that’s
a Christian has hope this one who does not needs that hope they’re watching the
Christian to see how they’re going to get through the same exact things they
themselves are going through when Paul writes to the Corinthians he says we are
able to comfort others with the comfort we ourselves were on the receiving end
of from God when we were going through the same thing that they’re going
through but when we do we have to be able to give them an answer so that they
too can have the hope that we have and when they look at our lives do they see
hope do they see that wow they’re different that they’re different the way
they’re handling this and and they’re going through this and I’m going through
this and I’m watching them but they have hope I don’t have hope I want that hope we have to be at the ready to give that
answer to every one of that hope that we have let’s pray Father in heaven thank
you so much in just these two verses and I even feel that the time devoted to
teaching them was in some ways inadequate so Lord would you as only you
can by the Holy Spirit take it from here I did my best will You do the rest will
you bless this to our hearts the application of it to our lives
Lord we truly desire to be numbered amongst those of whom it can be said
they are so gracious in the way that they act towards others especially those
who are not believers they’re always at the ready to give an answer of the hope
that they have Lord thank you we also want to be those who make the most of
every opportunity and redeem the time while there’s still time in Jesus name

  • If you're in pain you're not alone. If it seems like the world is crushing you you're not alone. If you've wasted ten years you're not alone. If your future is uncertain you're not alone. If you're thinking of killing yourself you're not alone. If nothing seems to work out you're not alone. If you're at your limit and you're ready to throw in the towel you're not alone. When you're alone you're NOT ALONE! If you relate to anything I just wrote you're not alone. I'm right here with you and so is God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Everyday is ONE day closer. One day closer. Lord Jesus!

Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

  • I pray every day for my adult children and grandchildren to find God and be saved. This wonderful teaching has given me insight to do more than pray, to show how my life is better for my faith, through example and loving words, Christ-like behavior as much as I am able with God's help. Thank you so much for this teaching. I should show Joy and not worry!

  • Such a great teaching so well put it's so great to hear this I hope others are listening and apply what you are saying but lifting each other's up and loving on each other

  • I have no idea, but, I hope I make it into Heaven.. I Have a good heart I believe and i like to help others, and make people laugh.. I hope our heavenly father see's in me how much love is in my heart and how much I really do care for other people and all our animals and earthly life. Praise Jesus!! Thats my buddy Jesus. ❤👨‍🏭👨‍🏭👨‍🏭

  • No Time To Slumber says:

Another blessed reminder 😔 Much needed for this vessel(me) to hear.

Thank you Lord. God bless you brother pastor J.D. Farag and the rest of the church who is also soo welcoming and loving 🙌

  • I didn't find what he said to be offensive. I do understand where he's coming from. There are A LOT of distractions in our world. Many Christians don't have their eyes fully on Christ. It's like a person driving down the road texting. That's the believers in our day.

  • It’s bland because they have yet to find themselves in the story. It is the same way with history. History is a drag UNLESS you can apply an ancestor of yours in the story or the event or era in question. So who am I and how do I fit in God’s story? That is our question. And it is our mission.

  • Of course there is Hope why because of what Christ has promised us all who follow him. A place in heaven a place where there is no sin, no hate, no anger, only love filled all around you…Butterflies carry angels to get you and bring you up to the gates…wow from there where the streets are gold and the gates of pearl not that it matters that there are many Mansions in there and those Mansions belong to those who sewed some awesome seeds and rule as Kings and Priests who are teachersscribers of the Heaven on Earth… they are given many cities to care for…I understand my delivery address for I do understand Messianic coding…and what my entirety stands for…for Moses woke me at the 12th hour…It's been a crazy ride of knowledgeable…already Learnt and given…It's a wild ride indeed and very blessed to have been in five books now…

    Entwined With Clay
    by Holly Christy

    Iron, entwined with clay.

Reverse the curse to the technology and longevity, the Lord set limit's.

Alive reverberence thoughts of, sweet dreams.

Forced to embrace the brutal ness, of horror.

    Combined with flamboyance, of victory.

    Startling the lion, of invincible.

To hear stolen songs of the, brittle hearts.

Resonate passing in the misty winds, of blue.

Believing injustices is from the woes set by yesterdays, past.

Surpass those defying on what can't be, completed.

Fame owns no boundaries, spread wide and abroad.

    The prophets, speak out loud.

So hear the joyous breath, of little ones.

No crying in the streets, of marigold.

As the angels cajole sympathy of touch through, petite fingertips.

Unto the shriveled heartstrings, of the cold nefarious.

A tsunami wave of emotions flow from, melted hearts.

That was once full, of jagged ice and canyons of cold.

Now flames throw rouge aurora, from rearing exuberance.

    Of regenerated hearts, of vibrance.

That rings out a new song, of dance.

One felt through vibrations, the goosebumps galore.

For, the curse can't be reversed it must be through fulfillment, first.

Then shall freedom freely reign and heaven be, at Peace.

    Loves Sake

She, grins giddy from ear to…ear.

With her shoulders scrunched up hiding behind, her knees.

She gasps with, bright blues and heightens in a Wow!

Oh my God! oh my God! that's beautiful.

Golden rod, upon the seal of longevity.

Oh Father, clear the fields of enslaved…sorrows.

Please, oh please forgive the fallible sins.

Mama, oh Mama she's coming home.

Going home, to that invincible soldier.

For, this treacherous world has even beaten her…inflictions.

Leaving her quaking, in her love.

High above the midnight skies, dipping in the Milky Way.

Instinct gathers, greater then fear of disdain scorned.

Risky contumely buckles the mudslinging, flattery.

Gripping, the inaccurate of erroneous stray…vigilance.

Selected, crafted minds of spirit and soul.

Gather writings to bleed upon, a universe left by endless hate, for loves…sake.

  • Prophecy update video, 39k views.
This video, 3.5k views. That's 90% less views. I've noticed this for a long time. People seem to be more interested in prophecy than they are the other 75% of God's word. This might be why the last generation is so weak and weary. Just a thought.

  • JD, culture affects the way people worship. In Minnesota some places would find your style too emotional and people would walk out. Good luck with “MN nice” Have a safe trip, God Bless

  • It’s Day 16 of the Elul Prayer Challenge. Today we will be lifting up in the US the states of Nebraska & Nevada and the countries Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Madagascar, Malawi, and Malaysia. Let’s Pray!

  • Amen! Thanks for the encouragement, Pastor JD!
I'll be praying for you to use the patience that God has given you better.
Please pray for me, too. I'm under attack. I am 57 years old and have loved animals and taken in strays (human and pets!😂) and either found them homes or mostly just added them to our family. We weren't blessed with children of our own and our pets are closer to us than some ppl.
The enemy has, in the last 2 1/2 years, killed 4 of our pets. 1st was a 2 yr old cat who had a stroke and died within an hour! 2nd, an 11 yr old dog who was such a joy! She got cancer and we had to have her put to sleep when she quit eating. We couldn't give her the meds she was taking and she got the very beginnings of pneumonia in 36 hours.
3rd, a dog who started having cluster seizures just a couple of months before the 1st dog was diagnosed with cancer! We tried all kinds of different meds and even CBD oil and could not control them! Finally, the last round he had were so intense that at only 1 1/2 yrs old we had to take to the vet and have him put to sleep. The seizures were so intense that they nearly killed him! One after another and another and… It was awful!!!
I told my husband that I felt like I had PTSD after having lost so many pets close together and 2 of the 3 being so young and the circumstances around their deaths being so extreme! I told him I didn't want anymore pets! (That's huge for me to say! We've had and lost a lot of pets over our almost 37 years of marriage but most all of them died of old age or were healed or repaired miraculously (I prayed for one of our dogs who got out, accidentally, and got hit by a car! She had blood coming out of her ears and nose! I laid my hands on her and prayed for her and I felt her bones being put back together! It was so incredible! She was up and moving around in 5 minutes and after 10 minutes no one would have ever known she had been hit by a car! Praise God!!!) and then died of old age.
Well, there's 2 little wild kittens that were born in a vacant house next door. They have been around since the spring and their momma has been really good to care for them but as she was weaning them, they got hungry. So, we started last week to feed them and one a cute little black and white male started to get closer to us and though he didn't get close enough to touch, we could tell he was thinking about it. He got hit by a car last night! He ran off across the street and we couldn't find him. I've been awake most of the night and saw his sister and momma come up to eat but no sign of BW. Now, my heart is breaking, again! I told my husband that I feel like the enemy is trying to get me angry at God (I have struggled with it. I prayed for all these pets I mentioned and not one of them were healed in the way I wanted them to be healed.). I will not renounce my Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ! He sought me and He bought me with His precious blood that He spilled out for my sin! I love my Triune God! He has brought me through so much and I cannot imagine my life without Him! I love Him!!!
The deal is, I just hurt so deeply! Please pray that the kitten, if he is still alive, will be healed, asap, one way or another. And, please pray for me because I'm just heartbroken and still so afraid of allowing new pets into my life. They have brought me so much joy and love for my whole life! I cannot imagine my life without at least 1 dog and at least 1 cat in it! We've had more than I care to count from time to time!
Pray for the intense fear to subside and the grief to go away soon. I feel like I haven't been able to get over losing 1 before another one dies! I hurt so deeply!
I'm sorry this got so long. I guess I just needed to pour my heart out a bit. I trust the Lord to bring the right ppl along to pray for me. Thank you in advance for your prayers.
    In Christ's love,

  • Good word, Pastor! Amen and AMEN!
Salt can can cause thirst but more than that, it causes us to retain fluids. That's why ppl in dry climates take salt tablets or drink Gatorade so they retain more fluids and why ppl with heart conditions are told to limit their salt intake because their heart doesn't pump enough to move the fluids out of their extremities and it causes their ankles to swell and such.
That said, being salty would cause ppl we speak to to hold more of "the Living Water" that is ministered to them, too!
God's best to you, Pastor and to everyone one else, too!
    In Jesus name,

  • The Good News of Yeshua should be communicated with prudence, tact, consideration and kindness; yet pointedly, not insipidly — the words rendered "interesting" or "engaging" mean, literally, "seasoned with salt" (compare Mt 5:13&N). Some people have the impression that believing in God and/or Yeshua is not so much un-Jewish as simply tedious, boring, dull. And there are believers who do their part to confirm this attitude by being tedious, boring and dull, seasoned with nothing. Caught up in their small world of church, Bible, and "fellowship," they fail to make full use of every opportunity to reach people who desperately need the Messiah in their life. Instead, their own lives seem dead. They seem unable to make their conversation gracious and interesting and do not know how to respond to any particular individual, because they, unlike Sha'ul (1С 9:19-23), do not try to understand people outside their own circle, whose background and experience are different. Communicating the Gospel involves listening as much as talking, and praying more than either.

  • I do too many things wrong and are constantly tempted by sin not to read or listen to the Bible. I listen and read during the work week but slack on the weekends and that is when the temptation is the highest since I am feeding the flesh and not feeding the spirit.

  • What of us who have reached out in pain, for 4 years, just to have the head pastor tell me to my face, "No one cares, and no one will." And an associate pastor tell me nothing will be done and I'm on my own?
4 years of suffering, and not one person could care less. I told him I'm struggling and they sent me out in the dark to suffer alone. I've cried for help and nobody came.
Don't forget your veterans who are suffering. Zero friends. Zero hope.

  • I believe you have hit on the main problem, about churches not really teaching scripture, and Christians not studying, so they are too afraid to put themselves out there, afraid of not being knowledgeable enough….God bless

  • Daughter of a King says:

Amen Pastor people fear man and this should not be…Deut. 14:2 For you are a holy people to the LORD your GOD, and the LORD has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasures above all the people of the earth. 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of the darkness into His marvelous light. Just plant the seed if nothing else tell them your testimony where the LORD GOD brought you from we all have one. We are seeing how late the hour is keep praying for the lost stay before the LORD for strength in the days ahead and sounding the alarms. Be blessed in the LORD this day and walk in the newness of it Amen

  • Trinity love2007 says:

My household sends it's love and prayers for you and your church on and offline Brother J.D. Fabulous cuts into the mind and digs into the heart

  • Since Jesus came into my life I notice a difference in how I am with my patients at work. I don’t get frustrated like I used to and I sit and talk to them and it’s amazing the things people just want to get off their chest and just feel heard. It feels amazing. God really laid it on my heart that for some, I may be the only kind word they hear in a day.

  • Thank U Brother Farag for the teaching! I would like to request prayer. I need physical healing (head/neck/back) in order to work & provide for my family. Thank U for your prayers! Your Brother in Christ!

  • I needed that hear this. I've been living in perpetual sin. Not being careful with my words and how I treat people online and outside. Pray for me please

  • My sisters an brothers in Christ.
Maybe someone here can help me. I am looking for a very simply-put Bengali version of the Gospel message. Not in Script, but put in words. It's meant for a young Muslim man whom I have on my heart to give that message to. As is, communication is in English, but in a very limited way. I have searched on internet, but little to no material for me to find here in Europe. In the mean time, please pray for him. He is very unstable and depressed. His wife and young son are the victoms of that. Thank you for your efforts in advance. I will repeat this message in future semons also and through other channels as well…

  • It was nice visiting Calvary chapel on the day you preached this message and your prophecy update also. The Lords return for his bride is indeed at the door.

  • When I was younger, I used to get into very deep conversations with my son about the Bible. I was so surprised as to how much he knew and could even quote parts or all of certain verses in the Bible. I believe when he was a child he accepted Christ as a free Gift as the Savior, having sacrificed His life for the salvation of all sinners by His blood atonement. But now after he's an adult, it seems he is not sure he really believes that. I pray for him, but he told me he believes he will be beheaded in the Tribulation, as he also said that he needs a lot of proof to believe before he'll put his faith completely in the plan of salvation. I believe his wife has had a negative affect on him because I do not believe she is saved at all. They've never taken their 11-year old little girl to church as his wife runs him and all of his relatives, causing him to disrespect me. I feel badly for my little granddaughter and pray at least she will be raptured as she's not at the age of majority. Thank you, Pastor. I will still try to do what needs to be done to give others hope! 🙏💕✝
