Diabetes: Managing Complications and Medications – Promo

– When the Pancreas is unable
to secrete enough insulin, or the insulin produced
isn’t working as it should, the nutrient glucose isn’t managed, and diabetes occurs. Diabetes complications can be managed through the help and support of the nursing staff and the care team. In this course, we will identify
complications that occur when a person has diabetes; explain how to respond
when complications arise; and recognise the role of medication in managing the condition. To do this, we are going to look at the short-term effects of diabetes and how we manage them, then the longer term effects
and appropriate responses, before examining the role of medication in diabetes care and your role with that medication. We work together with
the person with diabetes and other professionals, all with the aim of
making diabetes management as easy and unobtrusive as possible. But it should never become complacent with somebody’s everyday care. A person’s life depends on it everyday. (closer music)
